UCF BIP Internship
Business Incubation Program (BIP)
Podcast Highlight Clip
27-second clip from my interview with Tony Oxford for the UCF BIP podcast.
My goal with this clip was to speak directly to one of the farm's primary audiences while creating curiosity around the experience they offer.
I opened the clip by calling out a specific demographic to immediately capture their attention, then structured the remainder around a contrast between authentic, pesticide and chemical free produce and commercially grown produce.
By positioning the farm as something many people have never truly experienced, the clip encourages viewers to learn more and experience the difference for themselves.
Founder Interview
Six-minute interview with Christian Elam, co-founder of the venture capitalist firm Andromeda, which recently partnered with UCF's BIP.
Demonstrates my approach to interviewing, featuring research-driven questions designed to draw out meaningful stories and insights, rather than surface-level responses.
My goal was to guide the conversation using thoughtful prompts that demonstrated respect and genuine interest in my guest and his expertise, and to create an interview with lasting value for him, anyone considering working with him, and the BIP.
Social media isn't always about going viral. It can be used as a tool to build familiarity and trust with prospective partners before a relationship ever begins, giving them greater insight into who they're considering working with and reducing uncertainty in the decision-making process.
BIP Testimonial Clip
52-second clip from my interview with Jaime Diaz, founder of Coffee Drop.
My goal was to speak to one of the program’s target audiences (founders of startups who are struggling to get funding by investors) through this clip. I chose a hook I knew would resonate with them and stop their scroll, and structured the rest of his testimonial to provide the value and context needed to retain their attention.
Fun fact about my recording location:
I drove out to the incubator location they’re headquartered at to record the interview in person, but that resulted in me only having access to my iphone to record.
I still wanted a professional multi-camera feel, so I recorded the interview in landscape mode, and then created three different perspectives - a guest view, host view, and wide shot - by adjusting the zoom and framing in post-production.
Storytelling Clip
From my 45-minute interview with Tony Oxford for the UCF BIP podcast, features the origin story behind his aquaponics farm.
My goal was to create a clip that captured the significance behind Tony’s aquaponics farm. I wanted anyone who viewed it to understand why aquaponics is meaningful to him, and to feel a personal connection to him through it.
Starting with 8 minutes of raw footage, I was able to edit it down to a 1 minute, 44 second storytelling clip by prioritizing flow of the story and only including what was essential to the story.
